Until Norton formally advise all Mac customers that they have had issues with Norton360 and that downloading from Liveupdate is the cure, forget continually reloading the software.

This is the WORST software experience I've had on Mac EVER over more than 30 years!! Time for all Mac users experiencing this to make louder complaints or cancel subscriptions. Not even their Level1 support team were fully versed on these problems with Mac versions of 360 since late November 2019, insisting on re-installing software which, if they had been kept up-to-date would already know that it didn't make any difference.

What product were those guys really testing to warrant those scores? Prior to "upgrading to 360" (more like downgrading), I checked magazine reviews and Norton360 were consistently in the top three. How else could you explain the lack of support coming from them and the misinformation.

No matter how much compensation you get, it isn't worth the time wasting and uncertainty with this dysfunctional software, and let's face it, Mac users are a very small part of Norton's business so they don't really mind the pain. Other Mac users have been given 6 months extension of their subscription for their troubles, I got 60 days. VPN does not load anymore - a variation on it disappearing! It DID last more than the usual two days, but yesterday the familiar VPN disappearing trick happened several times, then this morning the Mac crashed - reporting that Norton360 caused the crash. I had Level 2 Mac support once again "fix" my installation last week, which I believe centers around the " statedb' file under Library/Application Support/Smyantec/Silo/MES/NSV/StateUpdater.Īs usual it took days and hours to finally get this done, after which I was assured that "yes this was the fix to this problem". I wanted to continue supporting them but this experience has been so tiring, frustrating and (now) disappointing that I think I'll just use up the measly 60 days offer and go elsewhere. That has been amply demonstrated these last two months.

Norton certainly know how to really upset their customers. Worse, other users with identical problems to mine over the last two months have received 6 months extended subscription as compensation and I received 60 DAYS. Macs are NOT their priority or profit base.

they are too busy satisfying their PC base to bother about improving their obvious short comings regarding Mac problems.ģ. Norton's disgraceful "Level 2 Mac" support responses over the last two months simply means either Ģ. No one from Norton has addressed this issue.Īs I suggested in another post, I don't believe that Norton are really that fussed about the Mac market - after all it is a much smaller one then the PC user base they make money on. The Mac reports Kernel panic report each time. It has taken since early December 2019 to last week to get this issue fixed, and yes, it is still working, with the proviso that the other reported problem is that my Mac and iPhone repeatedly crash. The ONLY way to fix this is wait and wait and wait to be connected to Level 2 support (Mac), and put up with hours and hours of time to get it done.
